À propos
"Strawberry Harvest" by artist Lily Rickels celebrates Oakville’s rich heritage of strawberry growing and basket making, dating back to the mid-1800s. The artwork, with its bold colour palette, symbolizes abundance and togetherness, reflecting the connection to the land shared across generations. Inspired by quilting motifs, the design was created to evoke a sense of community and cherished moments, like the artist's personal memories of making jam with her mother. The piece is a vibrant tribute to Oakville’s past and its enduring bonds.
Building on the success of previous years, the Town of Oakville has once again invited a fresh cohort of talented artists to bring colour and creativity to the streets by showcasing their artwork on traffic signal cabinet boxes. This year, seven boxes across Oakville will feature striking designs, each offering a unique artistic interpretation of the community’s essence. Through this initiative, Oakville continues to foster public art that reflects its vibrant culture and encourages local pride.
