Join the Toronto Symphony Orchestra for a fun-filled day of music activities and performances—free and open to all ages. Perfect for families, newcomers, and devoted fans alike!

Schedule

10:00am–1:30pm – Free Lobby Performances & Activities

Try out instruments of the orchestra, compose a short piece and hear it performed on the spot, enjoy face painting and colouring stations, take a self-guided tour of the hall, hear live music from TSO musicians and special guests, and more. Activities range from high-energy to calm and creative—explore at your own pace.

No tickets or reservations are needed for these activities. Drop in anytime!

2:00pm – Free Concert (Tickets Required)

Join your TSO for a one-hour concert featuring beloved classics and bold new sounds, led by Music Director Gustavo Gimeno and Barrett Principal Education Conductor & Community Ambassador Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser. Whether it’s your first symphony concert or you’ve been attending for years, this free performance is for you!

Founded in 1922, the TSO performs at Roy Thomson Hall and is known for artistic excellence, versatility, and global reach through touring, recordings, and broadcasts. Music Director Gustavo Gimeno leads the Toronto Symphony Orchestra with bold vision and vibrant artistry. Now in his tenure as the TSO’s 10th Music Director, Gimeno is acclaimed for his dynamic performances and international presence, also serving as Music Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.

The TSO serves its community through wide-ranging education programs, including School Concerts for 40,000+ students and the tuition-free Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. Additionally, the TSO supports the development of next-generation artists through its annual open call for Canadian orchestral scores, and its essential Resident Conductor and Affiliate Composer positions.
