Trinity St. Andrew's, United Church - Open daily from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Closed Mondays)
The Witness Blanket is a powerful art installation created by master carver Carey Newman, recognizing the atrocities of the residential school era. Inspired by a woven blanket, this large-scale cedar-framed artwork incorporates hundreds of items from residential schools, Survivors, churches, government institutions, and cultural sites across Canada.
Each object carries a story — of loss, resilience, and strength — and together, they form a national monument to truth and ongoing reconciliation.
A reproduction of the original work, printed on wooden panels, was created so that the sharing of its stories and message could continue. The original work resides in the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Manitoba.
