“WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL AT HOME?”

“Prism House“ (located at True North Square) will become home to an interactive Multimedia Art experience on the evening of Saturday September 23rd. The event will draw together a carefully selected cast of Artists from various art disciplines to culminate a collective energy that aims to create a safe space for honest creative expression for everyone.

Two art installations will be erected onto the True North Square grounds, one of which will serve as both a Light sculpture as well as a sound booth. Throughout the night DJ’s will be taking the public on a journey through sound, from from Latin to Bossanova, to funk, soul, hip hop, house, while painting the dance playground with a colourful palette of music for everyone to move to.

Follow the lead of some seasoned guest movement artists as they inspire you to explore the many different dialects of human body language.

The Prism House team invites the public to really imagine themselves as a work of art that contributes to the culmination of a collective art piece in motion. Attendees are highly encouraged to come dressed as their own idea of what beautiful art means to them. So whether you come dressed as your alter ego, favorite artist, or a make-belief character, this will be a night for celebrating authenticity.

The evening will also feature a special Live Painting and Dance collaboration piece entitled “Animal Cages and Keys”. The performance explores the animalistic nature within human beings, and the rules that confine true expression.

The Hargrave St. Market grounds will also be hosting the Prism House Photo Booth and Creative Lab where the Prism team invites the public to partake in a collaborative art piece called “Youniverse: seeing through the eye of a neighbouring stranger)” Attendees will be invited to take a seat in the booth and contribute their portrait that will then be transformed into community mosaic pieces. A video montage of portrait juxtapositions will be on display on the big screen.

The one night exhibit is hosted by Hargrave St. Market, curated by multidisciplinary artist Nereo Zorro and will feature an eclectic cast of power house talents.

Prism House is a creative arts collective and movement that aims to celebrate diversity and create positive social connections through authentic expression.
