Open Studio will host a screenprinting demonstration in our front-of-house galleries. Visitors can watch an artist in action, Arwen Giel, and learn about the screenprinting technique. This demonstration is a great chance for the public to gain a deeper understanding of the art of screenprinting and printmaking in general. Meanwhile, our galleries will feature a rotating selection of contemporary prints from our sales program, fundraising program, and archive. Our display will show various works in the printmaking medium: from small prints to large prints, lithographs, etchings, screenprints, linocuts, and everything in between. Each purchase directly supports our artists and studio.

Open Studio is an artist-run centre dedicated to contemporary print. We offer accessible, inclusive and affordable printmaking facilities, programs and services for artists and the public from across Canada and abroad.

Ontario Culture Days

The Ontario Culture Days Festival is an annual celebration of arts, culture and heritage taking place each fall across the province. Each year, we work with organizers of all disciplines to produce this province-wide festival. Organizers host programs throughout Ontario and invite the public to participate for free.

Ontario Culture Days lives at the local level. We support organizers from the smallest hamlets to the largest cities, while coordinating with other national and provincial Culture Days partners. We support the success of our sector colleagues through resources and network development, while highlighting the breadth and heterogeneity of Ontario’s arts and culture to the wider public.
