À propos
The story of immigration is a story of us. Most of us have descended from immigrants, people who came to this country with hopes and dreams of making a better life for themselves and their families.
Pitt Meadows is a colonial settler community. For Culture Days 2024, we’re bringing you their stories, the immigration stories of four large groups that eventually settled in the area. Every Friday we will bring you, their stories. Let’s unpack their stories and histories.
Friday September 20th – British Canadians
Friday September 27th – Japanese Canadians
Friday October 4th – Indian Canadians
Friday October 11th – Dutch Canadians
We will have two in-person craft events during this event, September 22nd and October 6th. Visit us during our open hours to discover more about their stories and some of their historical crafts! September 22nd we are doing origami and weaving to represent Japanese and British Cultures, and on October 6th we are doing mock blue pottery painting and weaving to represent Dutch and Indian Cultures.

Pitt Meadows Museum
We work to preserve objects and documents of the past in order to educate future generations to maintain a sense of identity and pride in Pitt Meadows’ heritage.
The Pitt Meadows Museum is made up of two sites, the Old General Store and the Hoffmann and Son Machine Shop, across Harris Road from each other just to the south of the C.P.R. tracks. The General Store and Post Office Site (1908) is a heritage building and the oldest known structure in Pitt Meadows. Some parts of the building date as early as 1886. The General Store has permanent and temporary exhibits that tell the story of the early to more recent settlement history of Pitt Meadows. The building houses a small community archive and reference library. The Hoffmann and Son Site is located in the old machine shop of Ladislaus and Hans Hoffmann and houses their collection of related tools as well as more than sixty restored stationary engines.
Year-round we offer programs for families such as our Museum Sunday (Year-Round), Museum After Dark (October), Victorian Christmas (December), and Heritage Thursdays (Summer).
