À propos

My current body of digital paintings is rooted in the neo-modernist tradition of approaching composition and technique from a modernist standpoint. I combine it with new technology and working methodology.

I am concerned with process and the evidence it leaves on the finished product. Working digitally can create many questions for the observer as to the nature of the artwork. I want the images to bare their digital hallmarks but at the same time negate them; hence the inclusion of the drips.

Using a tablet offers an authentic painting experience that is paired with the speed of the technological age. Ultimately, I am interested in the dialogue of whether something can be painterly without actually utilizing paint.
