This will be a celebration of the Canadian military and especially with regard to the 76th Anniversary of the end of World War II. There will be displays including one for the 100th Anti-Aircraft Battery which included many members from the Harriston/Minto area. Author Jim Henderson will be on hand to talk about his book, "Before Their Endeavours Fade". Lincoln and Laura Dinning will host a display telling the story of their son, Cpl. Mathhew Dinning who was killed in Afghanistan. Ellin Bessner is the author of a book about the participation of Jewish Canadians in the Second World War and will have a display.

John McVicar

John McVicar is the manager of the Superior Memorials location in Harriston. He is an avid military history buff. He has organized previous scavenger hunts and been involved in promoting the heritage of Harriston and the surrounding area.
