À propos
The Public Art Map + Activities guide is a walking tour of public artwork inviting deeper engagement with the artworks through self-directed arts activities. Each artwork listed will have a prompted art activity, to help you RE:imagine public art in Oshawa. Nine works, spread over a 3.5 km looped route, will tour through six sites in the downtown core, including the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens, and Memorial Park.
To complement the Public Art Map + Activities guide, and Celebrate Culture Days, Oshawa is offering free activity kits. The activity kits contain all of the art supplies necessary to follow along with the sketch, sculpt, and color prompts that accompany each work. Interested residents can register online to pick up a free arts activity kit on Thursday September 23.
Participants who create artworks in responses to the Public Art Map + Activities guide are invited to submit their artworks by October 24, 2021 to be entered into a random prize draw for one of three $100 gift cards to Curry’s Artists’ Materials.
