À propos

Join us in inviting Munni Subhani for a healing dance workshop.

Munni is a Canadian dance teacher of Bangladesh heritage, using dance to transcend borders, boundaries, cultures, and age groups. Munni has been studying music and Kalthak dance since her childhood, inspiring her to open the Lamis School of Music and Dance when she immigrated to Toronto. Gaining notoriety from her dance school, Munni began working with students of all ages, ethnicities, and abilities. Working with diverse dancers, Munni discovered that dance benefits not only the body, but the soul as well, boosting self-esteem, promoting emotional well-being, and fostering cultural connections. This work inspired her development of therapeutic Indian dance form, which she now practices worldwide.

Markham Arts Council

The Markham Arts Council was originally started with a mission to serve and enhance our community’s well being by providing arts and cultural education and awareness while supporting the work and development of visual, literary and performing artists. Over the years, the Arts Council has worked on collaborative projects and initiatives by providing emerging and established artists with opportunities to grow and learn. Our aim is to build a stronger, more diverse yet unified arts community that encompasses literary arts, experimental art, visual arts, new media, music, dance, performance and dramatic arts.
