Who We Are
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Barrie Chapter is a vibrant community organization dedicated to promoting peace, understanding, and service under the guiding principle of “Love for All, Hatred for None.” Our mission is to foster a harmonious society through various community-oriented activities and initiatives. We strive to make a positive impact on Barrie Community through service, education and cultural exchange, with our members committed to building bridges of understanding and cooperation within the community.
The Women’s Association is particularly active in community work, leading educational initiatives, charity efforts, and cultural promotions.
Our Mandate and Vision
Our vision is to create a cohesive and inclusive community where people of all backgrounds can come together in mutual respect and understanding. We strive to embody the values of compassion, service, and unity in all our endeavors.
Year-Round Activities
Throughout the year, we engage in numerous activities that align with our vision and support cultural diversity:
• Educational Initiatives: Setting up booths in schools and collaborating with the city and local library to educate the public about Islamic Herirage, Culture and Values.
• Community Engagement: Hosting friendly Iftar dinners and other community gatherings to build relationships, promote understanding and fosteringa sense of togetherness.
• Charity Work: Leading charitable initiatives like “Fill a Purse for a Sister,” supporting food bank, and participating in fundraising events such as the “Run for Barrie” to support local hospital (RVH). Run winter drives.
• Local Donations: Supporting local charities such as Season Centre, Elizabeth Fry Society, Youth Haven, and Kidney Clothes etc.
• Community Clean-Up: Participating in Adopt-a-Highway cleaning projects.
• Promoting Art and Culture: We organize educational displays and booths that highlight the rich cultural heritage of the Muslim community, contributing to cultural day events and other local celebrations. Sharing the Muslims contribution to the World and Canada to promote better understanding of the community.
