À propos

The Richmond Museum’s fascinating new exhibition, Family Treasures, explores the many ways our treasures and heirlooms reveal our unique histories while also showing surprising shared connections. The exhibit features a local family treasure, a black Volkswagen Beetle owned by the Cowell family, which was displayed at their VW dealership in the Richmond Automall for decades. The exhibition opens to the public Saturday, September 21 at 10 a.m.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy hands-on experiences with interactive exhibits, posing for photos with the Beetle, repairing a family heirloom in a jigsaw puzzle, play I Spy!, share what they would save if their house was on fire in a Q&A exhibit, and taking a close look at different preservation threats, pests and materials in the Conservation Station.

Family Treasures runs from September 21, 2024 to August 17, 2025 at the Richmond Museum

Operating hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends. Admission is by donation.

Organisateur

Richmond Museum

The Richmond Museum is operated collaboratively by the Richmond Museum Society and City of Richmond. The Museum’s vision is to make the history of Richmond relevant, engaging and accessible.

To support this vision, the Museum collects, documents, researches, preserves, exhibits and interprets objects of historical and cultural significance to the development and history of Richmond.

As storytellers, collectors and educators, our goal is to create moments of wonder and understanding. Our exhibitions tell the many fascinating stories of Richmond; our collections are windows into how we live, past and present; our education programs open minds, young and old; and our work inspires action for a healthy community and planet.
