À propos

The AGB’s Community Generator is a series of community art exhibitions and activations designed to connect more artists with more audiences. Presented in dedicated spaces throughout the gallery, the program fosters creativity, dialogue, and inclusivity by offering a platform for local artists, collectives, and community groups to share their work. Each exhibition invites meaningful exchange, sparks inspiration, and opens space for new perspectives—celebrating the creativity and diversity that thrive within our community.

Kamaldeep Kaur: She Walks Between the Moments

Community Gallery – Lounge

She Walks Between the Moments is a visual journey through love, longing, and inner awakening. Inspired by the mythology of Radha—the eternal Nayika—this series reimagines her not in ancient times, but within the natural beauty of Canada.

Each painting unfolds like a dreamscape where memory and imagination intertwine. The Nayika appears in stages of love—waiting, yearning, dreaming, meeting, and merging—both with her beloved and herself. Nature becomes her mirror, reflecting realms of emotion and consciousness.

Rendered in the delicate tradition of Indian miniature painting and enriched with contemporary techniques, these works explore love as a force that transcends time and space. Here, time loops through the seasons of the heart; landscapes are surreal yet intimate, woven with symbolism, silence, and stardust. The feminine is divine—and her dream shapes the world.

Maha Mustafa: Game of Burning Stones

Community Gallery - Corridors

At the age of ten, Maha Mustafa’s visits to Baba Karkur in Northern Iraq revealed a land where oil-rich soil transformed play into spectacle. Children danced and threw stones onto the ground, igniting colourful flames in what became known as the “Magical Fire.” The vast field, red and damp, shimmered with sulfur fumes, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. Flames shifted shape with the wind, appearing as signs and symbols.

Over time, the game faded, but its players have multiplied. Each now brings distinct shapes, secret languages, tactics, and aims—turning the once-playful landscape into a scene of burning chaos, mirroring a battlefield.

Within this chaos lies an underlying system—an allegory for the games of war, power, knowledge, and wealth that shape the geopolitical realities of today. This series of abstract sculptures, Game of Burning Stones, embody tension, ritual, conflict, and mystery. Together, they create an energetic presence that draws viewers into the intricate interplay between order and disorder.

Zorica Silverthorne : The Intricacies of Pattern

Community Gallery - Hallway

The Intricacies of Pattern is a vivid exploration of botanical forms, organic shapes, and natural pigments. Each work captures the living essence of plants, pressed into specially treated watercolour paper through a transformative process of heat, pressure, and water. In this alchemy, pigments bloom, details emerge, and each imprint takes on an unrepeatable character. The results feel dreamlike—where shared energies between plant and paper become visible, and delicate networks are revealed—inviting us to reconsider what truly exists within the hidden world of flora.
