Join the Art Gallery of Algoma on September 30th, 2026 for the opening reception of the Indigenous Voices Youth Art Exhibition, presented in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as part of Ontario Culture Days. This special exhibition celebrates the creativity and cultural expression of Indigenous youth who participated in a series of free Woodland art workshops led by Indigenous artist and educator Lucia Laford. Dignitaries will be present at the opening of the exhibition alongside community members and supporters to celebrate the achievements of the participating youth artists.

Art Gallery of Algoma
The Art Gallery of Algoma was founded as a non-profit public art gallery and incorporated on July 7, 1975. Established by a group of dedicated volunteers and arts enthusiasts led by Elsie Savoie, the AGA honours its roots as a community organization with its mission celebrating culture, educating visitors, and enriching lives through the visual arts. The AGA moved to its present location next to the scenic and historic St. Mary’s River in 1980, a 10,000-square-foot facility including four exhibition spaces, the Ken Danby Education Studio, the Gallery Cafe and Gallery Shop. Over the last 50 years, the permanent collection has grown to over 5,500 artworks by many wellknown Canadian Artists.
