A special one time Zoom class all about Character Mapping. Students will learn how to break down character elements, and really get into the mind of the character of their choosing. This will class will benefit anyone who is pursuing a career in theater, or could be a fun refresher for anyone with an interest in literature. Come join us, and get to know your favourite fictional person!

Conservatory of Performing Arts

For more than a century, the Conservatory of Performing Arts has been a beacon of arts education in southern Saskatchewan. Founded in 1912, the Conservatory continues to link people to their passions by providing accessible arts education to learners of all ages and abilities. The Conservatory strives to foster a supportive and respectful environment which offers opportunities for people to be actively engaged in the arts; this kind of activity is crucial in the creation of a strong community.

The Conservatory offers a wide variety of performance arts based programming, including Glee, Scriptwriting, and Broadway Genius. In Broadway Genius, students create their own musical, from characters to their own songs. These are related to the above activity because in the above listed programs, students have to get in to the mind of their character in order to be able to perform as them. My lesson will give students insight as to how they would break down their character, and they can then choose how they would perform a character with specific qualities.
