Learn Analog Synthesizers with the TriCity Synthesizer Society

This beginner level music workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals of analog synthesis, including oscillators, filters, envelopes, and modulation. Through hands-on exploration of classic analog synthesizers, participants will create unique sounds, understand signal flow, and develop skills to craft basses, leads, pads, and experimental textures for music production and performance. Previous experience making music is not required. This workshop will be delivered by York University professor and electronic music researcher Dr. Andreas Kitzmann, who is also a founding member of the Tri-City Synthesizer Society (TCSS), a non-profit community organization dedicated to promoting electronic music, synthesizers, and creative sound technologies throughout Waterloo Region.
