Admission to the Thunder Bay Art Gallery during Culture Days is pay what you can.

The Gallery is committed to accessibility throughout the year with $5 admission fees and free admission Wednesdays thanks to support from the John Andrews Foundation.

Thunder Bay Art Gallery

As the largest public art gallery in Northern Ontario, the Thunder Bay Art Gallery is a leader in the exhibition and collection of visual arts throughout the region. Every day the Gallery creates engagement by providing school tours, hosting arts events and classes, or sharing our space with community groups. The Thunder Bay Art Gallery stands as a regional cultural hub committed to developing connections through contemporary Indigenous, local, and regional art.

The Thunder Bay Art Gallery…

… reaches over 4,000 school age children through in person curriculum linked tours and hands-on learning opportunities.

… engages over 1,000 students in the region and beyond through a virtual school tour program.

… documents and records our culture, with over 1,600 works of art forming one of the most extensive collections of contemporary Indigenous and regional art held in trust for the community.

… expands the influence of artists and loans artwork to other museums and galleries including the National Gallery of Canada and the Smithsonian Institute.

… welcomes up to 20,000 visitors each year including residents as well as national and international tourists.

… hosts artist talks, lectures, demonstrations, and dialog sessions including hybrid livestreamed events.
