À propos

Our interactive online and printable map, hosted on the Elora Environment Centre website, will guide you to some of the amazing food, flower and forest projects being cared for by various plant-minded groups in Fergus and Elora. In addition to showing where we are growing food, flowers and forests, the map highlights nearby bike trails and walking paths and where to park if traveling by car. It also shows various amenities such as picnic tables, washrooms, water refill stations and playgrounds. At each site, a sign with a QR code takes you to information about the site’s caretakers, history, future plans and contacts. Happy sleuthing. There are so many hidden gems to discover!

Join us at the Elora Centre for the Arts on Tuesday, September 24, from 5-7 pm, to begin installation of a native plant pollinator garden. We will be laying cardboard and mulch. The following Tuesday will be a planning session at the same time. Then on October 8, 5-7 pm, we will be kicking in some mature plants for the winter. Please contact Sonia Cheng at the ECFTA if you are interested in joining in.

Food Forest Centre Wellington is hosting a Harvest Event on September 28, from 8-11 am. In addition to picking herbs, veggies and berries and sampling some recipes, you will be able to pick your own apples and press them.

Food Gardens

The map locates the food gardens cultivated by the Community Garden Network and Food Forest Centre Wellington.

Flower Gardens

You will find several notable gardens cared for by our two local horticultural societies and the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

Tree Planting Sites

You will also find some of the tree related projects happening under the wing of the Elora Environment Centre, with its Tree Trust Program and Neighbourwoods.
