À propos

Based on the ancient mindfulness tool used around the globe for millenia, the Labyrinth at Lynn Valley United is open to the public for contemplative connection to the physical and metaphysical self.

Modeled after the Chartres Labyrinth in France, this labyrinth is an elegant expression of medieval sacred geometry. Its single path to the centre loops back and forth in an intricate pattern that supports cross-hemisphere brain function while allowing one to get lost in thought without ever getting lost! There is no right or wrong way to encounter the labyrinth; be it a simple mechanical movement or an intense prayer-filled conversation with the divine.

Come discover yourself while losing yourself...

Centre for Spiritual Practices at Lynn Valley United Church

The Centre for Spiritual Practice at Lynn Valley United Church formed to serve members of the community for whom, for a variety of reasons 'church' does not meet their needs. A growing body of evidence shows that including spiritual practices in your regimen increases overall health and well-being -and the newly-formed Centre for Spiritual Practices hopes to provide ongoing, regular activities that use meditation, reflection, prayer and action to allow individuals and groups to connect to that well-being.

Most people would say that every program of the church has some spiritual component, but in establishing the Centre for Spiritual Practices, the goal is to teach and improve skills, tools and techniques to support and maintain a more balanced life. Some of what is offered is filtered through the Christian lens, as Lynn Valley United is a Christian organization, but there are also practices that use neutral language making them accessible to people of all- or no- religious background.
