À propos

Discover the art of storytelling transformed at the County Adaptation Film Festival (CAFF) and step into a world where stories leap from the page, the stage, and history itself onto the big screen.

Held each September, CAFF is a bold celebration of creative transformation—where adaptations take center stage and the journey from inspiration to cinema is honored in all its forms. From literary classics to graphic novels, memoirs to music, CAFF showcases compelling films that reinterpret original works through a cinematic lens.

CAFF mixes ticketed events with free all access public films and activations so the festival can be enjoyed by all!

More than just a film festival, CAFF is a conversation—a place where screenwriters, authors, filmmakers, and audiences gather to explore the power of narrative and its endless possibilities.

Whether you’re a cinephile, a creator, or a curious explorer of stories, CAFF invites you to discover the magic of adaptation in a setting as unique as the films themselves. Join us this fall to celebrate the stories that shape us—and the films that reimagine them.

Organisateur

The Regent Theatre

Our story began in 1918, when self-made Greek immigrant George Cook had the vision to build a spectacular hub for entertainment in his new home of Picton. Fast forward a hundred years and thousands of inspiring performances and countless magical moments later, we continue to be Prince Edward County’s only purpose-built cinema and live performance venue.

1994.......

The Regent Theatre Foundation, a community-based not-for-profit comprised of dedicated volunteers, purchased the theatre with the support of Edna Pearce Gordon and we continue to operate the theatre.

We’re proud to:

Share culture – including the very best of movies, live performance, special events and digital programming.

Build Community – we’re a gathering space for audiences, artists (we especially love our local creators!) and the wider community.

Steward history – we take our responsibility to maintain our beautiful, heritage-listed building seriously.
