Built in 1895, The Dalnavert Museum is a small Victorian Mansion nestled in the heart of Winnipeg’s Downtown. This unique museum features a “day in the life” feel as it transports you back in time to the 19th century the second you step inside. It was home to former Manitoba Premier, Police Magistrate, and lawyer Sir Hugh John Macdonald, who was the son of Sir John A. Macdonald, and his family. Dalnavert Museum and Visitors' Centre (DMVC) is a national historic site that is one of the finest examples (in Western Canada) of Queen Anne revival architecture. Today the museum fosters engagement in history, culture, and much more.
