Join our volunteer-led walk along the confluence of sparkling Silver Creek and the wandering Credit River. Your guides will share some fascinating local history, from Indigenous trading that named the “Credit,” to early mills, and Lucy Maud Montgomery's years. We envision a 2-part walk with the first hour taking place along pathways in the lowlands of the ravine within the ecology park. Then, a hike up to the top of the ravine for a spectacular view of the Silvercreek – Hungry Hollow valley. Come to the first hour for a more leisurely walk and then choose to leave, or to stay and go up the slope. Wear sturdy shoes and bring a refillable water bottle. Weather permitting.
Jane's Walk honors the visionary urbanist and author Jane Jacobs and her idea that cities can provide something for everybody only when they are created by everybody! They bring people together to explore and share knowledge of their neighbourhoods.
