[How a Building is Born: Behind the Scenes at 90/100 Alexander Avenue]

6PM-Midnight, 100 Alexander Ave

5468796 Architecture invites you to investigate objects & documents from the five-year process of designing, renovating and constructing their mixed-used rental housing development located at 90/100 Alexander Avenue. Experience the birth of “The Bend” via models, architectural drawings, fabrication mock-ups in a one-night-only exhibition overlooking the Red River on Nuit Blanche 2025. Also featured will be a look into the ongoing work of 546’s applied research initiative Shared Ground, which is dedicated to developing more affordable housing on social purpose infrastructure in Winnipeg.

[Pavilion of Voices]

7PM-Midnight, 100 Alexander Ave

Pavilion of Voices is an interactive public art installation in Winnipeg designed to collect and display the community’s vision for the city’s future. It consists of a lightweight mesh structure placed in open urban spaces, gradually filled with illuminated recycled bottles. Participants write their hopes and ideas for downtown Winnipeg on the bottles, which are then added to the framework, transforming it into a vibrant, evolving collective artwork.

The project emphasizes connection — between people (equal contribution of one bottle each), across cultures and experiences (diverse voices converging), and to place (spanning between buildings as a symbolic bridge). Sustainability is central, with reusable and recyclable materials ensuring no waste is left behind. Ultimately, the installation becomes a temporary urban landmark and a living record of the community’s shared aspirations.
