Welcome: A bit about me.

I have been driven to create since I was a young girl. It took me until my late twenties to decide to give up teaching and return to school to study art. Since then, I have worked full time, making and teaching art.

In the last decade, I have devoted myself to painting. I am thoroughly loving this exploration of gestural abstraction.

I explored a few different painting approaches, but it was only when I discovered oil paint and cold wax medium that I knew I had found my voice. It has allowed me to explore the nuances and energy created through the use of mark making, layering and texture.

My website also includes some of my past ceramics and jewellery. I feel that this work informs who I am today.

My goal is to create atmospheric pieces that can be enjoyed from far, but that also invite the viewer to come closer to examine the intimate details in the work.

I need to paint. I can't imagine my life without a studio. It is my happy place. I feel so fortunate to be able to spend my life doing these things that I love so much.
