‘Discover Your Past to Understand Your Future’ for Culture Days at the Manitoba Genealogical Society (MGS), on Saturday, September 28th from 10 – 4 at MGS Resource Centre, Unit E – 1045 St. James Street at Ellice (Brick Plaza), Winnipeg.

Take a tour of our Library, browse resources, check out our online catalogue of books & reference material or explore our searchable database, the Manitoba Name Index (MANI) with 1.5 million records of Manitoba names. Talk with our experienced genealogists on how to get started or how to progress with your family history. Our volunteer genealogists will be available for one-on-one research assistance on a first-come, first-served basis. Minimum of ½ hour time slot which can be extended depending on demand.

Family friendly activity for all ages – a wee house family art project, lots of free assistance, informative research handouts with plenty of free parking & adjacent restaurants.

The Manitoba Genealogical Society Inc. (MGS) is one of ten provincial genealogical organizations that endeavours to promote genealogical research and the writing of family histories. It is a registered charity formed in 1976 and incorporated in 1982. The main objectives of MGS are:

To assist researchers in doing their genealogical research.

To collect and preserve Manitoba genealogical and historical records/materials.

To foster education in genealogical research through Society workshops, seminars and publications.
