À propos
Hilda Shangotola of Fruit Art School in Regina will demo a participatory workshop on fruit carving. Fruit carving has cultural roots in many Asian countries, including Thailand, China, Japan and Vietnam. It is often used in festivals, weddings, and other celebrations as a symbol of good luck, prosperity, and abundance. In Thailand, fruit carving is considered a highly respected art form and is formally taught in schools, and used in religious ceremonies as an offering to monks. Hilda will demo then work with participants the foundational elements and tools for carving watermelons, apples, mangos, cantaloupes and kiwis.
Organisateur
Last Mountain Lake Cultural Centre
Last Mountain Lake Cultural Centre is an not-for-profit arts facility that offers a diverse range of artistic programs for the communities of Last Mountain Lake. The Centre was built in 2001 by local volunteers who donated countless hours and supplies. The Centre opened to the public in June of 2002. The LMLCC has continued to grow and develop our operations to function as a professional arts facility, featuring two gallery spaces that showcase local and professional artists, classes and programming for all ages and skill levels, and a community arts program that engages community members within our building and around the community.
