Join senior dance artists Suzette Sherman and Michele Green for a performance developed in collaboration with Dancetheatre David Earle! This hour-long program in the Helson Gallery includes a short introductory talk, six dances, and ends with a group discussion.

Dance is the physical portrayal of storytelling. The stories explore themes common to the human condition - friendship, loneliness, despair, entrapment, redemption and memories of the past. Passionate Heart removes lights, stage and costumes to present a raw, intimate experience between dancers and audience.

COVID-19 screening protocol is in effect and mandatory for all Town facilities, including the Helson Gallery. Pre-registration is required, and attendees must provide proof of vaccination upon entry to Helson Gallery. Attendees should also continue to maintain physical distancing and wear a mask as per public health guidelines. Seating will be distanced during the performance.

Passionate Heart Dance

Passionate Heart, Women’s Stories through Dance was developed in 2018 by senior dance artists Suzette Sherman and Michele Green in collaboration with Dancetheatre David Earle. This highly versatile presentation has been performed over 30 times in Southern Ontario, including Alton, Guelph, Kingston, Kitchener, St. Jacobs, Glen Eden, Orangeville and London. Along with studio presentations, Passionate Heart has been performed in theatres, art galleries, churches, community centres, a university campus and high schools.
