Brenda Reid is an emerging multi-disciplinary artist and designer living in Kitchener, Ontario with a background in architecture. In her quilting research, she uncovered several traditional quilt blocks with architectural references. She says about her quilt exhibition, "I was really interested in seeing how architecture was being translated by quilters. I was particularly struck by “courthouse steps.” It’s a very simple pattern and yet invokes this colonial architecture that exudes power. This project reflects on this reflection of architecture

- the symbol of the courthouse - and depicts four topics of injustice with it."
