Village Green English Dancers are hosting an Open House as part of Culture Days. Dance through the ages, from the 17th to the 21st centuries. The Fine Companions, our house band will be playing for our dancing. You’ll discover a great variety of music and dance, from elegant court dances to lively traditional dances. All participation dances will be taught. Please bring flexible, soft soled shoes, a water bottle and an adventurous spirit.

There will be demonstrations of Morris Dancing, English Dancing, small Northumbrian pipes and song.

Village Green English Country Dancers

Village Green English Dancers have been part of the Manitoba dance community since 1976.

We dance on Wednesday evenings at Harrow United Church 955 Mulvey Avenue. The general class runs from 8:15 to 9:30. It is wonderful to experience dances which were danced in the courts and manor houses of the 17th and 18th centuries as well as those danced on the village greens.

English Dancing is enjoyed the world over, and since the mid 1970s there has been an explosion of both music and dance.

We are most fortunate to have The Fine Companions play for our dancing at all our social events and occasionally on Wednesday evening.
