À propos

KC Adams (Ininnew/Anishinaabe/British) is known for her powerful photographic works that confront racism and negative stereotypes of Indigenous people, including the series "Cyborg Hybrids" and "Perception."

She will present her work and discuss her practice, which encourages meaningful dialogue about the impact of colonialism, at the University of Regina Department of Visual Arts' Art for Lunch lecture series.

Adams' talk will resonate with a diverse audience, as she uniquely merges media art with ancient techniques and knowledge, which she has (re)discovered as an adult. Recently, Adams has been using clay as a tool for change and to reclaim personal history. Her art also delves into storytelling, our connections to plants and water, and our role in the universe.

This talk includes live ASL interpretation. Registration is not required for this free event. Adams' talk will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.

Presented in partnership with the Department of Visual Arts, Faculty of Media Art and Performance at the University of Regina.

Organisateur

Art Gallery of Regina

Located on Treaty 4 Territory, the Art Gallery of Regina (formerly The Rosemont Art Gallery) shares the artwork and experiences of artists living in Saskatchewan, allowing viewers to recognize themselves and gain powerful insights into other people's stories. Founded in the early 1970s as a community-focused satellite of a larger art gallery, the AGR continues to support historically excluded artists and artistic disciplines and create ways for people to discover the importance of art in our lives.

The AGR is a tenant in the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre.
