Ainara Alleyne is a nationally recognized youth literacy advocate as well as the creator and host of Ainara’s Bookshelf on TVOKids. Through her book club and media platforms, she champions inclusive middle-grade literature that reflects underserved voices and inspires empathy, identity, and connection among young readers. Learn about her journey to becoming a changemaker on social media through reading, from reviewing books for the New York Times, being Hamilton Public Library's first Junior Librarian in Residence, and the Ms. Read-a-Thon Junior Ambassador for 2 years in a row!

We have proudly served our community for more than a century. The Georgetown Public Library was founded in 1895. Three years later, the Acton Public Library opened its doors. The two libraries operated separately until 1974 when they merged and became the Halton Hills Public Library.
