À propos

Fan making - children will make fans with paper, popsicle sticks, rubber bands and stickers. The abaniko or pamaypay is more than a cooling tool in Filipino culture—it symbolizes grace, artistry, and tradition, often featured in dances and social customs. Its designs, crafted from bamboo, palm, or fabric, reflect Filipino creativity and identity.

Sipa making and Sipa tutorial - Children and Adults will learn how to create sipa and play it as well. Sipa is a traditional Filipino game that involves kicking a small object, usually made of a washer and candy wrapper to keep it in the air without letting it touch the ground. The word sipa means “kick” in Filipino. It can be played individually or in groups, with the goal of seeing who can keep the object in the air the longest or make the most consecutive kicks. Similar to hacky sack, sipa is considered the Philippines’ national sport and reflects the agility, coordination, and playfulness of Filipino culture.

Pabitin Craft - Popsicle stick, candies, yarn and coloured paper. Pabitin is a popular traditional Filipino party game, often played at children’s birthdays and community gatherings. A bamboo lattice or wooden frame is hung above the players, filled with treats, toys, and prizes tied with strings. The frame is raised and lowered with a rope, while children jump and reach up to grab as many goodies as they can. The challenge and excitement come from timing their jumps with the movement of the pabitin, making it a fun, lively, and much-loved game in Filipino celebrations.

Maglalatik Dance - Dance tutorial Maglalatik is a lively Filipino folk dance from Laguna, performed by male dancers wearing coconut shells on their bodies. The dance, which depicts a playful battle over coconut meat (latik), combines rhythm, skill, and storytelling while celebrating the cultural value of the coconut.
