À propos
Celebrate Culture Day with a unique and free workshop! Learn how to create your own beautiful antler jewelry, including earrings, pendants, and brooches. All materials are pre-cut and provided, along with the necessary PPE.
You'll discover the story behind this traditional art form, learning how the antlers are responsibly harvested in the Yukon and transformed into stunning pieces. What you make, you take home in a special Northern Lights gift bag.
This is a no-cost, no-pressure event. Can't finish in one session? No problem! You're welcome to come back for a second free session to complete your masterpiece. Space is limited, first-come, first serve. This event has changed locations and will now be at the Whitehorse Visitor Information Centre at 100 Hason Street.
Organisateur
Gary Tautenhahn
Gary Armin Tautenhahn has been carving since 1992. He is an established artist who works mainly with ivory, antler, and bone. His great-grandfather was an artist who worked with marble, which inspired Gary to attend the Iqaluit Fine Arts Studio certificate program. Gary exhibits and sells artwork and enjoys participating in festivals and workshops and working with elders.
