Presented in celebration of Ontario Culture Days 2025.
Supporting the career development of artists and arts workers is essential to building a thriving, sustainable arts ecosystem - one where creativity is not only valued but viable as a lifelong pursuit. Join Work in Culture (WIC) at the Ontario Culture Day’s 401 Richmond Festival Hub where the team will share career support resources and information sessions tailored to those interested in pursuing a career in the arts.
WIC staff will provide an overview of our popular Job Board with tips on how to navigate a career in the arts and feature our career development resources and research available for access. WIC will also host two Meet the Funder sessions featuring guest speakers from local arts funders.
This programming will be made available free of charge with pre-registration encouraged to secure a spot for the Meet the Funder sessions. Visit www.workinculture.ca for more information.
Schedule:
12pm-5pm: WIC Career Development Resource Booth (available on a drop-in basis throughout the day)
1pm – 2pm: Meet the Funder session 1 - Ontario Arts Council
3pm – 4pm: Meet the Funder session 2 - Toronto Arts Council

Work in Culture
Work in Culture (WIC) is a non-profit arts service organization that has been serving the cultural sector since 1998.Our mission is to advance the careers of artists, creatives, and cultural workers from diverse lived experiences, and support the organizations that engage them, through entrepreneurial and business skills development and innovative research.
Work in Culture is here to support and encourage artists, creatives, and all cultural workers to strive for success, whatever that may mean to each individual. We develop and deliver business, entrepreneurial, organizational, and career training for arts and culture workers, in person and online, across all arts disciplines, cultural industries, and career levels. We serve as a platform of opportunities. With over 1,700 jobs posted every year, our popular arts and culture Job Board connects job seekers with employers across the country, and arts and culture workers with a range of professional development and volunteer opportunities. We explore sector conditions, trends, and priorities through innovative research. Our research projects highlight the social and economic impact of the arts and culture community, and identify our sector’s business skills/training gaps and needs to inform future programming. We also share success stories from the sector and best practices and resources for living, working and thriving in arts and culture.
Additionally, we work with sector leaders, organizations, and funders as a partner of choice for business skills training within the arts and culture sector.
