We are the BC Philharmonic Society. It is a pleasure to participate in Culture Day 2021.
Canada is a country that promotes multiculturalism. Different ethnic groups have their own distinctive music art and culture.
We would appreciate and learn different music arts and cultures from each other in Canada, which is very fortunate and proud.
Participating in Culture Day 2021 this time, we are introducing the characteristic music and melody of the Oriental Chinese musical instrument "Yueqin" and the Chinese minority "Yao nationality".

BC Philharmonic Society
Formed at the end of 2016, the BC Philharmonic Society(BCPS) is a registered non-profit organization with a mandate to promote, to perform and to produce orchestra music in Greater Vancouver as well as all over the world.
In the last 5 years, the BCPS has become very popular in Greater Vancouver community by giving out many public performances with around 50 musicians under the music director/conductor Zhuo, Rui Shi who won the first prize at Romania Black Sea International Conducting Competition at different
occasions with a high-level professional performing. BC Philharmonic Society includes BC Philharmonic Orchestra (BCPO) and Vancouver Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (VYPO).
We hold 2 large-scale performances every year. Many musicians have Eastern and Western music background. We performed many intercultural musical pieces. BCPS got Vancouver City Hall and Richmond City Hall grants.
