À propos

A recording of the premiere of this brand new work from Direct Theatre Collective, filmed September 2022 at the Waterfront Theatre.

verisimilitude is a new piece of speculative fiction written by Jill Raymond. The story follows Eve who has been integrated into EPITOME’s Safe Space program. Recognising that it is no longer safe or practical for humans to face the constant dangers of the real world – social unrest, war, global warming, or pandemics– the program was developed to allow people to live their lives entirely in the digital realm, protected from the threats of the outside world.

In a world where you can be anywhere, see anyone, and experience anything at the click of a button with the newest immersive VR technology from the safety of your own home - a limitless life is within reach. Totally alone, you’ll never be lonely again.

verisimilitude invites the audience to question how we experience reality, connection, and what is it that truly makes us human.

Featuring Jill Raymond as Eve, and Santana Berryman as Ida. Directed by Isa Sanchez.
