À propos
Featuring a broad range of material housed in the Mission Community Archives, this online presentation will chronicle the unique history of schools in Mission dating from 1885 to 2019, including one-room schools and the development of primary, secondary, post-secondary and private schools.
Most of the contemporary history has been collected through the School Archives Program which was founded by Archivist Val Billesberger to facilitate the ongoing collection, preservation and availability of archival materials from each school in the community. The first known program of its kind in BC, it was established in 2000 with the approval of the School Board and in partnership with school staff, students, and parents to ensure the annual collection and preservation of public records with archival value.
The online presentation will first be made available on Friday, September 25th on the Mission Community Archives YouTube page.

Mission Community Archives
The Mission Community Archives provides a broad range of services designed to ensure the ongoing collection, preservation and accessibility of the community’s documentary heritage (i.e., documents, photographs, maps, digital objects, sound and audio-visual recordings, etc.). This mandate is achieved through the pro-active collecting and conserving of materials to ensure its integrity and long-term availability; preparing finding aids and special resources to facilitate public access; providing reference services and educational programs for the public and students; and developing web-based resources.
