À propos
This video demonstration is about a remarkable species of butterfly which has adapted to its environment through a very specific strategy of survival: mimicry. The evolution of mimicry is often complex and takes considerable observation and thought to figure out its purpose and variations. Bruce Thompson has chosen as an example a swallow-tail butterfly that lives in Africa, often seen in low flight or strung out around muddy pools. The different ‘morphs’ of the species are portrayed in a series of watercolour paintings which he does on-screen, while explaining the ecological purpose. A list of materials is available through Bruce's website www.brucethompsonart.com Length: approximately 17 min.
Register below through Eventbrite and you will receive the link to the video presentation by September 1, 2021 - which you can then access anytime throughout the month of September.
