À propos
The Nuit Blanche John McKenzie House 2024 in Willowdale is a celebration to bring together the exhibition inspiring events of day on October 6th, 2024 from noon to 4pm (EST) entitled " The present is everything: future to past".
This exhibition was curated collaboratively at the John McKenzie House with WCRA (JMH) to illustrate art in the salon or living room of a Queen Anne revival home in North York which serves as the home of the Ontario Historical Society. The artwork from S'mad's ( Sustainable market art + design) platform of artists re-creates the setting of the art salon with arts and craft objects contextualized into the concept of "home sweet home" to question our present use of the everyday Canadian living room display artwork.
Different generations including Gen Z, Y, X , Baby Boomer and the Silent Generation unite in an exhibition for Nuit Blanche we are calling "The Present is Everything” . Sustainability of nature and community of all people coming together in unity is a message passed down by the Indigenous people. We want to give thanks to this land that belonged to the indigenous people and the life-giving water, flora and fauna.
