Port Moody Heritage Society

The Port Moody Heritage Society promotes appreciation of community heritage by collecting, showcasing and celebrating area history through exhibits, programs and events at the Port Moody Station Museum. Advocacy is another role that the Society has taken on and for years they have been advocation for the protection, rehabilitation and revitalization of the Ioco Townsite. The Ioco Townsite is an old company town and is in rough shape, in 2002 it was designated a Heritage Conservation Area and the Society is trying everything to protect it. The Ioco Ghost Town Day Festival is held annually at the townsite to bring awareness to the area and bring the community together . This year, since a big event cannot happen the event is going virtual! Learn about the townsite through our segments released each day at 2pm on our website, starting Sept 27-Oct 4, 2020.

The Venosta Radio show has ended our Ioco Ghost Down Festival for the past 8 years and are thankful that Expect Exceptional theatre will be joining us for this years Virtual Event!
