Organizer

Porcupine Art Club

The Porcupine Art Club was founded by artists R.E. Bim and Doris Sturgeon in September of 1947. The aims of the club were to foster the appreciation of art, to promote high standards in painting – whether pursuing a career or simply a hobby – and to interest the public.

The club welcomes artists of all skill levels to join, as long as they are at least 18 years old. Annual membership runs from September to June and costs $50, which also enrolls you in the Northern Ontario Art Association. Interested members of the public are welcome to attend our business meetings, which take place on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m., or visit us during our Sunday Summer Open Studio season, which runs weekly from July to the end of September each year.
