Organizer

Edward Fu-Chen Juan

Edward’s art practice is silkscreen printmaking on paper with water-based ink extracted from natural ingredients. He is taking endemic flora of chosen region, and extract colour to create ink paste use for silkscreen printmaking. The art works are inspired and limited by the biodiversity of the environment. The process was developed through his cultivation of an ongoing cultural exchange with artisans he has previously worked with in Oaxaca, Mexico. The knowledge of colour extraction was shared with him to merge with his contemporarily printmaking process. It aligns with his passion as a nature lover and appreciation of traditional craftsmanship. Currently Edward resides and works in Vancouver, BC Canada.
