About
Tapestrama Cultural Festival 2025 is a two-day multicultural and folk festival in Prince Albert community. The festival is held in celebration of Culture Days. It is a safe, inclusive of all and welcoming cultural showcase for residents to learn about the many diverse cultures and people that make up our northern Saskatchewan community. It celebrates, recognizes and honors the various cultures, traditions, and customs of the world. The word "TAPESTRAMA" means a tapestry of Canadian Cultures comprised of dances, music, food, arts and crafts, customs and traditions intermingling together. "Tapestrama" portrays the heritage and culture of People of Canada.
- There will be a full, two-day schedule of continuous cultural performances through music, song, dance and other art forms. Performers are encouraged to share stories and meanings of their performances for deeper cultural understanding and learning about traditional music, dances, clothing, etc.
- Food and beverage vendors, from various cultures, will be invited to set up booths.
- There will also be space for cultural merchandise and artisan tables, as well as the participating local community organizations that do work in anti-racism, multiculturalism, cultural awareness, and international development.
- A space for interactive activities most especially for children will be set up which will teach young one's cultural arts and crafts.
- A big wide screen will be set up beside the main stage to showcase videos about Anti-Racism, messages from Elders about residential schools and the truth and reconciliation, messages about newcomer’s experiences coming to Canada, cultural songs and dances and other community videos.
