About

Come experience, create, and enjoy something new with local rope artist Battle Axe at Shibari Still Life during Ontario Culture Days this September!

Using their learned experience of rope techniques, Battle Axe will be your creative guide amongst six completely unique Still Life art installations featuring flowers, bark, leaves, herbs, textured fabrics, rope, ribbons, and more. Express the ties that bind you together with knots and weaves as you enjoy a curated soundtrack for the experience.

Members of the public will be invited and encouraged to participate in the exhibit in several different ways, up to and including incorporating their own elements into the existing pieces (materials will be provided), creating their own inspired art based on the still life (ie photography, painting, drawing), and simply appreciating the atmosphere and enjoying the space.

Organizer

Battle Axe is a performance and fibre artist, a beginner personal trainer, a perpetual student, and an all-around jack of all trades. They participate in many creative community events throughout the year while working towards their dream of an online and in-person personal training business offering services geared towards the local 2SLGBTQIA+ community (as well as those looking to get strong)!
