Things Fall Apart is a solo exhibition exploring the crafted miniature worlds of Erika Dueck in the Shirley Richardson Craft Gallery. With precision and accuracy, Dueck crafts the internal spaces of her rooms out of everyday materials. Some rooms have the sense of purpose and utility found in the spaces we inhabit daily, while others display the unfamiliar and unconventional. She infuses her miniature spaces with details that hint at the passage of time, creating the impression of a living history within a fictional space. Things Fall Apart will be on display from 12pm-9pm

The Manitoba Craft Council is for people who love contemporary craft: professional artists and artisans, collectors and connoisseurs, DIYers and armchair enthusiasts. It’s for people who value the originality and quality of the handmade, who find meaning in making. It’s for the dreamers and schemers who seek to reinterpret the material and cultural traditions of the past through a contemporary lens. It’s for people who have to forge, carve, weave, fold, sculpt, knit. And for their friends and supporters. It’s for you.
