FREE. Suggestion Cost: PWYC (Pay What You Can)! This is a suggested contribution for my offering as an artist and mindful walk facilitator. You can bring cash, pay by PayPal, or set up direct deposit. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Thanks so much.

Everybody is welcome. These community walks promote our mental well-being, establish a strong connection with nature, and encourage mindfulness. I'll take you to one of my favourite spots where I find inspiration and capture some of my best photographs. 12: 55 PM📍 Let's meet at Nicol MacNicol Parkette, 1 Elm Ridge Cir, Toronto, ON M6B 1A2

1-1:30 PM Let's meet at Nicol MacNicol Parkette, 1 Elm Ridge Cir, Toronto, ON M6B 1A2—Short mindful meditation exercise and a brief poem selection for a walk. Allow your breathing to settle into its own natural rhythm.

As you arrive, imagine setting down any concerns, plans, or tasks you have carried with you today.

Then start walking east on the Kay Gardner Beltline trail. We will be walking a very small part of the trail,

1- 2:50 PM Guided Slow mindful walking, Observation on the Kay Gardner Beltline trail. Photo walk | open your heart, mind, soul for Awe moments.

3- 4 PM End of the Walk: Collective Reflection and Journaling at Parkette in front of the Forest Hill Library, located at 700 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto, ON M5N 1B9, and the Forest Hill Collegiate Institute.

They have 5 small nice tables where we can rest, make some art together and share our journey. For Washrooms we can use the Forest Hill Branch Library. Washrooms are located outside the library in a city-owned space and are not accessible. Wheelchair Accessible

🌿 What to wear and bring:

✅ Please bring your Journals and pencils to write insights, observations, or poetry inspired by the journey.

✅Your phone camera or just your powerful eyes

✅ Comfortable shoes for walking, & Comfortable weather-appropriate clothing

✅ Water bottle

✅ Hand sanitizer

✅ An open mind and heart, very importantly, your best smile!

These events are rain or shine and will take place unless the forecast calls for thunderstorms or very heavy rainfall.

Yannis Lobaina

Yannis Lobaina is an award-winning Cuban artist, author, mindful nature photographer, and arts-based workshop facilitator based in Toronto. In her daily art practice, she works at the intersection of writing, mindful nature photography, podcasting, filmmaking, and community art facilitation. Her focus areas include art, motherhood, immigration, and the magic of everyday life. As a photographer, Yannis specializes in minimalist and visual storytelling. She captures fleeting moments of beauty, patterns, sacred geometry, textures, and pareidolia (faces) in nature. Her photography invites viewers to pause and appreciate the stillness, calm, and beauty that can be found in the natural world. Yannis is passionate about slow creativity, mindful living, slow travel, and ethical photography. These principles are important to her work. She has received numerous awards and recognitions from the Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, and Toronto Arts Foundation. As a new Canadian, these awards have helped her exhibit her photographs and mixed media artworks at various galleries in Toronto.
