St Andrew's Presbyterian Church

St. Andrew’s Church, the church on the hill, has been a congregation in Fergus since 1834. The present building dates from 1862. The Historical Marker to the west of the building is in both Gaelic and English. Buried in the church cemetery is George Clephane, about whom his sister wrote the lyrics to the hymn “There were ninety and nine”.

St. Andrew’s has a long-standing commitment to a collection of schools in rural Haiti, through its financial support of H.E.A.R.T.S. The financial support provides mid-day meals to students and funds teacher’s salaries.
