This workshop gives a high level introduction to Bharatnatyam one of the oldest classical dance forms from India. After a brief performance the visitors will have an opportunity to participate and learn some basic steps of the dance. They will learn about the history of the dance and unique features of the dance.

Vibrant Brampton - Shivanjali Dance Academy

Shivanjali Dance Academy was established as a school of Bharatanatyam in India in 1999 and has been fostering a passion for the art of dance in children ever since. The academy offers classes for all ages, from children to adults. The students of Shivanjali Dance Academy have performed at various events throughout the Greater Toronto Area, with performances in a variety of styles of dance, such as Bharatanatyam, Folk, Semi-Classical, and Bollywood. The creative director of Shivanjali, Avni Vyas, is a Gold medal winner for Visharad (B.A in dance), and a passionate and accomplished disciple of Miss Radhika Pillai, a renowned Bharatnatyam teacher.
