About

Join us to experience the bountiful harvest at RareBirds Housing Cooperative's regenerative urban garden managed by Shelaigh Garson from Everyone's Eden Land Design. Using the principles of restorative permaculture, RareBirds is rebuilding soil and harvesting water to ensure a future of food security.

Using the produce from RareBirds garden, Urban farmer, Dede Bone from Tudor Farms, we will teach the art of salsa making and the canning process. You'll help us harvest some of the ingredients and then we'll move to the kitchen where you can assist in preparing the salsa ingredients.

We will also have a snack of Salsa and chips for you to enjoy. You will leave with salsa recipes and tips on the principles of permaculture and soil regeneration.

Tudor Farms will have salsa and other products available for purchase.

RareBirds Housing Cooperative

The RareBirds Housing Cooperative is an intentionally designed shareholder owned home on upper West Battle Street in Kamloops. As a co-living community we share values of collaboration and sustainability. Our neighbourhood is home to two urban farms, Tudor Farms and West End Tiny Farms. We work collaboratively with Shelaigh Garson from Everyone's Eden Land design and Dede Bone from Tudor Farms to develop regenerative agricultural practices with the goal of creating a model for food security in our community. With the expertise of Shelaigh and Dede in land management and food production, RareBirds Housing Cooperative is moving forward with our vision of sustainable food security.

RareBirds is a warm, vibrant community, welcoming friends and family to our table. House Concerts are a regular event. We are always happy to host folks interested in the growing trend of co-ownership. Pease join our salsa making event.
