Come out and join the North Shore Celtic Ensemble (NSCE) for a concert for Culture Days: a national celebration of arts and culture. We invite you to listen, dance, laugh and enjoy our free afternoon concert on the South Plaza at The Quay (Lonsdale Quay Market, North Vancouver) on October 14th at 3pm-4pm. They have woven together an hour of music that spans across genres, such as Celtic, Classical, Jazz, and Folk, to bring to locals and tourists alike. This event is made for all ages to enjoy! Bring your family and friends and experience a taste of the youth fiddle scene that is thriving within North Vancouver.

NSCE’s Culture Days performance will feature the blazing Senior Ensemble with the junior ensemble joining them for a couple of favourites and young fiddlers from Strings & Things for the finale. We have over 50 performers for this one-time performance and we could not be more excited - we might even have a few other special guests announced closer to the date!

North Shore Celtic Ensemble

The North Shore Celtic Ensemble is a dynamic community of young musicians from North Vancouver, Canada. The Ensemble brings raw energy and a whole new style to the Vancouver music scene. What started as Celtic is now a spirited no-boundaries exploration of music that inspires us. The result is a full-spectrum music experience that defies labels and spans conventional genres. Our own original compositions draw on Celtic, classical, jazz and folk influences and are blended with creative arrangements of more traditional Celtic tunes. Seven CDs celebrate our music and its west coast roots.

We have produced music groups for children and teens in Metro Vancouver since 1998. Currently, the Ensemble has four groups which range from beginner to advanced levels. It has toured across North America, Europe and China, performs regularly for local concerts and festivals, and supports a number of charitable programs through our Community Concert Series. More than just a performing group, the North Shore Celtic Ensemble is a meeting place for youth to explore and share music. Music is about connecting, with people of all ages and cultures, and the Ensemble is committed to helping to build connections through exceptional community performances and creative collaborations with other artists and arts organizations.
